10 Effective Homework Ideas For Middle School Students


As a middle school student you are probably starting to have a significant amount of homework to get through each week. For most students, especially those that play sports, do extracurricular activities, or have family obligations, getting through all the homework can be a gig challenge. Learning to do your assignment well when you are in middle school is important because you’ll have even more homework to do in high school and college. So, by forming good habits you’ll be setting yourself up for success in the future.

Use these easy ideas for succeeding with middle school homework:

  1. Leave yourself plenty of time to do your homework
  2. The worst thing you can do is to rush through assignments, especially if you’re having a hard time with them. Be sure to not wait till the night before its due to start it, and be sure to set aside enough time to work on it.

  3. Turn your phone off or put it in the other room
  4. Try to eliminate as many distractions as you can while you’d doing assignments. For most middle school students cell phones are one of the biggest distractions, so turn your phone off, or better yet, put it in the other room.

  5. Close internet browsers or disconnect from WIFI
  6. Unless you need the internet for the assignment you’re working on, disconnect so you can’t get distracted!

  7. Start with your easiest subjects
  8. This will help you to get them out of the way incase you get stuck on other ones.

  12. This is a good test taking strategy to practice on homework.

  13. Try to solve the harder problems without looking up the answers
  14. This will help you practice solving them on your own.

  18. This can be a great way to get motivated, and to get help if you’re struggling. Just be sure you’re actually working on them, not just hanging out!
